INTRODUCTION OF GRINDING WHEELS

What is a Grinding Wheel?

There are many types of Grinding Wheels, and it will be up to you to choose the
one with the correct specifications for your material.
The following are the fundamentals for fabricating Grinding Wheels:

1. Grain types: We have two types of grain, SD(Diamond) and CBN.
SD is used for Carbide and Ceramic material. CBN is used for SKD, SKS and other steel.

2. Grain size: Grain size is 140-2000, selected for required surface finish and Nose Radius.

3. Bond: We have Resin and Metal bond. Resin bond has a better surface finish
but shorter life than Metal bond. Metal has a longer life and is good for a very small Nose Radius.

4. Nose Radius: Nose Radius also must be your choice, depending on your production.

FINISH GRINDING WHEELS ON O.P.G.

Finish grinding of O.P.G. will be done by V-face wheel.

1. Grain size: Normally Grain size will be #325-#600.
2. Bond: Resin bond will be used for Better Surface finish.
Metal bond will used for Sharp nose-R and long life.

"Mav" series is developed for Profile grinding especially Optical Profile Grinder (OPG). In using OPG, each point of Wear, Run-out, Surface control of grinding wheel is very important. "Mav" series is considered such as points and decided best bond and grain to meet those request.

Of course Diamond and CBN grain, Metal and Resin bond are available.

V-face grinding wheel is used for finish grinding. But recently angle is going to small day by day, now is 10 dig. Then there is a problem of rigidity of the joint point between body and blade.

On this point, we use 0.5mm thickness blade and using special designed joint for higher rigidity. This design also makes more stabile of grinding wheel.
